Decommissioned weapons reborn as music instruments

Following his 2012 series Imagine, where he used remnants of weapons from the Mexican army to create music instruments, Pedro Reyes is back with Disarm, his second series of eight mechanical musical instruments crafted from weapons. He said in an interview with The Creators’ Project: ‘You can come up with an idea of taking a piece of wood to build a weapon. Or you can do the opposite and create something else with that material’. The concept is beautiful, and so are the sounds.
