Photographer Graeme MacPherson is based in the United States, specifically out of his truck, airport parking lots, and a $225 Chinese scooter at one point. His wanderlust and recent job results in constant travel, evident through his documentary-based photos that blend journalism and still life together.

Though the pictures span from rural Montana to urban Vietnam, there seems to be a loose theme describing these places through vacancy, paired with unconventional composition and blocks of colour. His medium format film is also very fitting for portraiture shots he takes of friends and people who are in the cities he travels through.

My favourite is a candid moment of a girl about to get onto her moped in Vietnam. Ah, beautiful. You can see this and other photos on MacPherson’s Flickr and stories behind the photos on his Tumblr.
