Kickstarter project inspires school children to be more creative

As a father of three small children, the project is really inspiring. It’s called Brain Food, a project co-authored by AIGA Portland and Right Brain Initiative, and it’s a creative activity deck for kids—50 cards that combine easy-to-find materials, a school subject, and an activity.

The creators of the project believe that the arts enhance every aspect of education, from reading to critical thinking, social skills and motivation. In their program, the arts are woven throughout the curriculum, and teachers and artists engage students in a creative process that integrates with other subjects. Our school systems need more things like this.

Plus, how awesome that is it fully illustrated by awesome independent artists who donated their time.
