Painstakingly beautiful papercut art by Elena Mir

Valencia-based artist Elena Mir created these stunning papercut installations between 2009 and 2013. She has methodically created 3D geometric shapes using only paper, building the work layer by layer. This cool time-lapse clip shows how Elena’s work is brought to fruition.

Her work will feature at Only Paper, an exhibition that showcases the possibilities of paper as the primary medium of creativity, featuring 14 paper artists at Valencia’s La Rambleta. Paper Only begins on October 10 and runs through until November 7.
