A swimming pool in the middle of the desert? Not a mirage
Los Angeles-based Ball-Nogues Studio, reworked the plywood structure of one of its art installations, Talus Dome, to create a new art installation: Yucca Crater near Joshua Tree National Park. With the 30-ft earthwork and participatory installation, visitors were able to climb in and jump into 8 feet of glistening water. The pool is a reference to the pockets of abandoned urban pools found across the Mojave desert.
