Nick Zinner, guitarist for the New York indie rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs, has been taking photographs since he was in high school. Unfortunately, he was born with a mild binocular vision disorder, which means that he has no depth perception and sees the world mostly flat – like a photograph.

As part of a touring rock band, traveling became an essential element of his life, which made him look around even more.

With his condition, he decided to take photos of everything because he doesn’t want to miss anything. And sometimes an image can suggest more than it’s showing.

He recently exhibited his work at Photoville in Brooklyn in an exhibition called ‘501 Photographs, curated by Sam Barzilay. The exhibition featured photos Zinner took between shows while touring with the band.
