Venezuelan government takes over toilet paper factory due to shortages

Imagine if there was a toilet paper shortage in the country. Imagine! No need to imagine anymore: Venezuela is going through just this. According to Reuters, a Venezuelan state agency has ordered the temporary takeover of a factory that produces toilet paper and ordered National Guard troops to ‘safeguard the facility’.

The reason? After embarrassing shortages earlier this year, the government wants to ensure that everyone is … covered. Some critics of President Nicolas Maduro say his socialist government is to blame. However you look at it, it’s one embarrassing situation–for all!
