No, you aren’t drunk: those are real, technicolour elephants on parade. Thanks to photographer Charles Freger, we have these lovely photos taken in Jaipur, India at the start of the annual Painted Elephant Parade.

He was able to capture 25 portraits of these elegantly costumed animals last Spring, before the festival was canceled due to animal right’s concerns. You can see more of these festive characters on the National Geographic website.
