Get shocked when you browse Facebook too long

Just admit it; you have a slight Facebook addiction. But now, thanks to two MIT PhD students, your days of mindless social media browsing are over. The Pavlov Poke is a nifty little device that acts as a keyboard rest, that is, until you fall off the ‘digital detox’ bandwagon.

The gadget senses when you’ve been on Facebook too long, and delivers a startling shock to your hands as a sort of aversion therapy. If you’d rather not experience the physical jolt of electricity, you can opt for emotional abuse instead. You’ll get a phone call where a person will call you a “lazy piece of garbage” every time you spend too much time on Facebook. So, who’s up for a social media cleanse?
