Before and after photos of New York’s Meatpacking District

Known by the official name as the Gansevoort Market Historic District, the Meatpacking District has quickly transformed itself into one of Manhattan’s trendiest and most expensive neighbourhoods. Yet it has miraculously managed to hold onto most of its original charm.

New York-based photographer Brian Rose took his old 1985 photos of the Meatpacking District and traveled back to the neighbourhood with them, remaking the photos in the present day landscape of the area.
