96-year-old writes a beautiful love song for his late wife of 73 years

Fred Stobaugh didn’t know the first thing about how to write a song or upload a video to YouTube. But his raw emotion took control as he began to pen lyrics to a love song for his late wife, Lorraine. ‘After she passed away, I was just sitting in the front room one evening by myself, and it just came right to me almost. I just kept humming it and singing it. It just fit her’, Fred explained. [watch this moving video here]

So when it came time to submit his entry to the Green Shoe Studios online songwriting competition, he did it with a handwritten letter. The letter made its way to producer Jacob Colgan who was deeply touched by the story and decided to bring it to life. The resulting footage of 96-year-old Fred hearing his love song fully produced is incredibly beautiful and truly heartwrenching.
