Rotating air gardens above Melbourne

Now that’s what we call guerrilla gardening. These gardens can be found floating above the streets of Melbourne, just hanging out and growing up there on recycled bicycle wheels and wire thanks to the genius of artist Lloyd Godman.

The rotating air gardens are the result of City of Melbourne’s 2013 Arts Grant Program and conveniently don’t require any upkeep. The plants chosen to grow above the streets are bromeliad plants, which gain all the nutrients they need straight from their leaves. So take that, city life! We just found a way to add a little whimsy where it’s least expected.
