While we’re talking about exorbitant prices for a ticket to go into space, a company based in San Francisco is now offering the opportunity of, er, the end of a lifetime, to get a space burial for a wallet-friendly US$1,990.

The memorial spacecraft carrying a ‘symbolic portion’ of the cremated ashes will orbit Earth for several months, and family members can follow the starry afterlife journey via a mobile app that shows how the world looks from the spacecraft in real time as well as the spacecraft’s location. Bookings are now open.
