Arrr, you can graduate from MIT as a jolly pirate

What is this? You can earn an actual Pirate Certificate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) when you complete its archery, fencing, pistol and sailing courses — essential skills for any self-respecting buccaneer to be an expert at.

Last year, six students were the first to obtain the pirate certificates officially, and one of them said the award came with the recitation of an oath that went something along the lines of promising to “run from any fight I can’t win”, “win any fight I cannot run from” and “sing yo-ho-ho at the top of my lungs”. Sounds like a good start to a high-sailing career.
