Determinig the DNA of a perfect Espresso

How far would you go to unlock the secret artistic wonder of coffee’s DNA? Probably not as far as Australian advertising agency Reborn did, modifying a Breville espresso machine to measure flow rate, temperature, pressure and when the use of steam was initiated.

With this data, the team then got to work visualising it in a real-time animation: each cup of coffee with its own unique characteristics, creating unrepeatable pieces of art. Of course, they then did what any art appreciating coffee nerd would do and printed the animations as espresso cups.
