A year ago, the largest building in the world was Dubai’s International Airport terminal 3. As of July 1, China’s New Century Global Center steals the title at 1.2 million square feet and 18 stories.

This colossal building is in the mega-city of Chengdu, and it contains 14 IMAX screens, restaurants, hotels, plenty of shopping, offices, and even a replica of a Mediterranean village complete with an artificial beach. What’s even more impressive is that this magnificent structure was completed in a year. You go, China.
