Better Than Ezra are the million-selling band with hits like Good and A Lifetime and has a fan base so faithful they’ve dubbed themselves the Ezralites. So what’s the story behind that name? ‘We have never revealed it, even under duress,’ says frontman, Kevin Griffin. These are the songs that have inspired him over the years.

Friendly Fires / Paris (Aeroplane Remix)
I love this band’s album and this remix makes me feel like going out on the town.

Metric / Help I’m Alive
Great band and song. Really cool arrangement and mixture of styles.

Iggy Pop / Nightclubbing
I’ve always loved this song. It’s got such a sleazy, 70s New York vibe.

Neko Case / Hold On, Hold On
I could listen to Neko Case’s voice all the time. All her music is wonderful. She is one of the best lyricists out there.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs / Maps
Who doesn’t like this song?

Supergrass / Late in the Day
I hadn’t listened to this song in ages, then it popped up on iTunes. Great video, too.

The Raconteurs / Consoler of the Lonely
I must admit that I didn’t want to like The Raconteurs, just because everything Jack White does is cool. But both of their albums are fantastic and this song rocks.

Air / Cherry Blossom Girl
I’ve always liked Air and this is one of my favorites. I think Hope Sandoval is singing in the background.
