New Zealand photographer Jonathan Cameron’s series Vamp: High Tea Edition, plays on the idea of pop-culture’s obsession with the alluring Vampire figure. A series of photos featured as a cookbook are accompanied by recipes that include the unusual ingredient of blood, playing on the idea of the ‘vegetarian vampire’.

For the series, Cameron developed the recipes and baked the desserts with animal blood. This pop-culture obsession with the desirable, yet repulsive Vampire is exemplified in his desirable desserts, and the repulsion felt by the knowledge that blood is an ingredient.
