Siphonophore: the longest living creature

This is the longest animal known to mankind. Measuring up to 130 feet at times, a Siphonophore are part colony of many, part individual. Technically speaking, they are a group of jellyfish all connected together: sort of like a huge team of rowers on a boat. But they also work as a single organism. This truly is a weird riddle from science.
