Francesco Francavilla’s Batploitation: 1970’s style Batman art

Francesco Francavilla has an awesome name, which is befitting as he is also an awesome artist. Re-imagining Batman in a 70’s exploitation cinema style, with its pulp stylings, seedy characters and muted oranges, Francavilla has made The Dark Knight, well, not so dark. Batman and his rogues gallery lends itself well to the exploitation style, or rather, as Francavilla has dubbed it, Batploitation.
