Embroidered newspapers by Lauren DiCioccio

Reading the newspaper is a ritual experience for many. Think of how old grandfathers are known to painstakingly pour through every page, sometimes twice even, and then make sure to do the same on the next morning. Playing off that sense of ritual and detailed attention, Lauren DiCioccio created a series of embroidered newspapers.

She took entire issues of the New York Times and encased them in hand-embroidered cotton muslin to preserve and display them. This method of recreating them truly speaks to how obsolete printed news sources have become.
