Cooking in your Enemy’s Kitchen: Michael Rakowitz

Enemy Kitchen is a project that began when Michael Rakowitz started compiling recipes from his Iraqi-Jewish mother. He opened up cooking classes for kids to learn about Iraqi culture. Middle school Americans were given the chance to hone their culinary skills while simultaneously learning to see Iraqi culture in a light that the biased media sources would never consider revealing. I guess it’s true that food brings people together.
