William Eggleston is considered a legendary pioneer of modern colour photography. The Metropolitan Museum in New York hosts an incredible exhibition celebrating the American artist born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1939. These ‘iconic photographs of commonplace subjects’ have inspired the likes of many contemporaries, including David Byrne, the Coen Brothers, and David Lynch. July will be the last month to see it in person, but one can sample the extraordinary work online here.
