Cinemagraphs: stunning GIFs made from photography mixed with video

A cinemagraph is a GIF image that combines still photography with video. Developed in 2011 by Jamie Beck and Kevin Berg, these images juxtapose a motionless background with one or two elements that move, creating a pretty cool effect. I especially like their New York ones, what better place to encourage the viewer to notice life’s small details than in a super busy city?
