Full Metal Cruise: Headbanging out at sea

It sounds outrageous, but the Full Metal Cruise, which recently set sail with the Mein Schiff 1 ship from Hamburg for a week, is for real. About 2,000 metalheads boarded the cruise to get their fix of late night metal karaoke, metal workshops, meet-and-greets and movie nights at sea — and also rocked out to over 20 bands on three different stages set up during shore leave when the ship did port calls at Southampton in southwestern England, La Havre at the French coast of the English Channel and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Bloomberg Businessweek reported that beer consumption averaged at 16 liters per head or “more than six times that of an average voyage”. Can’t say we are even remotely surprised.
