These images reveal the behind-the-scenes techniques applied by famous pin-up girl painter Gil Elvgren. After a photo was taken, he would transform girls into perfect little dolls.

It’s interesting to see that image manipulation isn’t just a recent trend. And guess what? According to these photos, 1950s women were normal women with normal bodies and normal figures.
