Personal ads from the 19th century

It all started when Pam came across an old ad from the 19th century in which a man was hoping to find his ‘bright, particular star’. He wrote a sweet personal ad for love and put it in the newspaper, much like people use eHarmony for  today. Ever since Pam found that one strange ad, she’s kept a blog of other similarly funny, strange, poignant, or just plain bizarre personal ads from the 19th century. The one that really stuck out to me was written by a widow with a singe child. She is advertising in hopes of finding a strong protector to marry.
