Remarkable Umbrella Pavillion designed by 3Gatti

Drawing inspiration from the design of the humble umbrella, architectural studio 3Gatti designed this facade for the 2010 Shanghai Expo’s Madrid Pavilion. The steel screen features individual metal umbrellas that open and close to adjust the amount of light in the building. Each umbrella can be opened or closed individually. Construction for the facade is scheduled to begin in 2014.
