Stunning photos of lightning strikes over Japanese volcano eruption

These breathtaking photos were taken by Martin Rietze, a self-proclaimed “volcano-chaser” and the creative force behind the Alien Landscapes on Planet Earth website. Rietze took these photographs of a particularly angry Sakurajima Volcano while on trip to Japan between February 21 and 26, 2013, risking his wellbeing to capture the raging lava and lightning – something that very rarely gets seen like this, for very obvious reasons.

No ‘e’ in lightning. Come on, you even link to other pages where it is spelled correctly. That’s just sloppy and lazy on your part.
