The Speaking Piano

If you’re in the mood to see (or hear, rather) something amazing, this is the video for you. Austrian composer Peter Ablinger’s Speaking Piano project uses an ordinary piano to mimic the tones and inflections of the human voice, allowing listeners to understand the sounds as words. In the video, the piano keys are struck by solenoids, reciting the Proclamation of the European Environmental Criminal Court at World Venice Forum 2009. Absolutely fascinating.
