Forsight, the research and development division of ARUP, has published an essay that depicts what the city and the skyscraper of 2050 will be like. If estimates are correct, there could be 9 billion people on earth in 2050, and density is really the only way cities will be able to cope with the population issues.

ARUP suggests that skyscrapers of the future will tout features such as; on-site energy production and waste management, built in transportation connections that are subterranean, and smart systems that interact with the surrounding environment as well as display corresponding data about how it is all working. We couldn’t be more excited for the future.
