Mood Indigo: Michel Gondry’s new French romance
Set against playful vintage swing music and a backdrop of swirling color, L’écume des jours (or Mood Indigo in English) is a visually brilliant love story. From the looks of the trailer, the film is yet another artistic succes from the imagination of Michel Gondry, complete with unusual little gadgets, dreamy imagery, and all his usual little flourishes. The film will be released in France on April 25.

Common’, you could have said it’s adapted from Boris Vian novels.Boris Vian who has been an engineer had interest for unusual gadgets already in 50′s (the pianocktail in « l’écume des jours » being one of the most famous one). This novel is also about death, criticize absurdity of industrial work and create great parody of Jean-Paul Sartre domination of Paris intellectual world.
Boris Vian was also a great jazzman, the author of parody of american thriller, and of course, great songs, as Le déserteur. He was a pacifist and can be seen as a kind of anarchist.
