How can you argue with such raw expression? Abner Jay’s I’m So Depressed surpasses in its heart much of what’s been released by all sorts of darling indie bands. And it’s one guy with no fancy production, instruments, or promotion campaign. It makes me wonder what the future of so called “outsider” art is since pursuing music now seems to be synonymous with self-advertisement. Is is dangerous to have insiders with no outsiders?
