Modular synthesis is something I really enjoy for my own work. True analog sound and no hidden menus make working with these kind of systems very intuitive and immediate. While modular synths seem to be the fixed gear bike of the music world, some companies are making amazingly cool stuff. Tip Top offers some very unique modules which I absoutely love, from the Z8000 analog sequencer (true analog makes a huge timing difference) to the new emulations of classic Roland TR 808/909 drum modules. Having classic Roland drums in my modular is fantastic.
