I can’t live without Eels. Mr E’s lyrics are at turns touching, amusing and poignant, but always tell a story that speak of his life experiences pleasant and not so pleasant, as well as to mine. Their music is deliciously varied, from the sweet sounds of Electro-Shock Blues to the guttural tones of Souljacker.

Sigur Ros. They take me to places that I’ve never been before and sometimes it’s hard to get back!
Listening to them is like being in a rock club with Beethoven.
Saw them on their recent tour of Oz. They were awesome – a religious experience for a non-believer.

Wow. There is so much music that I don’t think I could live without. Cinematic Orchestra – To Build a Home, Micheal Jackson – Thriller, Ben Howard – Only Love, Erykah Badu – What a Day, and almost every other song of hers. These are but a few on a long, long, long list. Music inspires, transports, communicates that which I cannot. Doubles my joy, shares my sadness. Music is food for the soul.

I couldn’t live without emotional songs. They lift me and take me out of myself. My favourite song is “Love Changes Everything”. Close behind come “When You Say Nothing at All” and “Angels”. In each case, the romantic words are perfectly matched to emotive music. This is very softening and peaceful music.

I can’t live without ALL music. Musical styles drive my emotions and I use music as a mood changer and/or mood enhancer. Most of the time, I want my mood to be upbeat so electronica usually dominates. But really, I can’t choose a single type.
