Food topographic sculptures by Stephanie Herr

German artist Stephanie Herr, who takes her inspiration from the maps of cartographers, creates topographic art out of packaged, shrink-wrapped food, which then take on a landscape quality that belie their relative minuteness in real life.

‘Photography abandons the two-dimensional plane and sets out to conquer the space’, she writes in her artist bio, adding that her works are attempts to capture the natural beauty that surrounds her, albeit on a reduced scape. It’s working.
