Robyn Hitchock is one of my all time favorite musicians. His green tinted acoustic based LPs (EYE, I Often Dream of Trains and the somewhat more recent, Spooked) always find their way onto my record player when the leaves start changing colors.
‘Atmospheric’ is how the man himself described them to me during an interview back before a gig in Hoboken, NJ, over a decade ago. They are like old friends: spare and acoustic, but always revealing something new with each listen. They distill the best of Barrett, Lennon and Dylan through Hitchcock’s own surreal worldview.
