Win a $300 Georgia Osborne gift voucher
The Australian summer is upon us, which means fabulous beachside parties and ice-cold cocktails. Enter Australian designer Georgia Osborne, who has launched her first Summer collection and new online store just in time for the season.
The intricate handcrafted embellishment, French lace, leather, hand beading and luxurious flowing silks transport you to the Moroccan streets, which inspired this timeless glamour. Osborne – who refined and developed her skills with the likes of Alannah Hill and Rebecca Davies – describes the Georgia Osborne woman ‘as someone oozes elegance and style, [and] appreciates quality and timeless pieces that make her stand out from the rest’. Personal faves are the Little Marrakech Dress and the Casablanca Blouse. Rock Glamour inspires Georgia Osborne’s Winter 2013. And she’s teamed up with Lost At E Minor for a Christmas Treat …
TO WIN: Suggest a name for a piece in this new collection and the one Georgia likes best will not only become a part of the Winter collection but the person who came up with it will win a $300 Georgia Osborne gift voucher just in time for Christmas! Get those creative juices flowing. The competition closes on 20th December, 2012. Leave your suggested name in the COMMENTS Section, below this post.
Entries open to all people, worldwide.

Aurora – can represent two things: a woman’s name and the phenomenal natural light display in the sky.
Aurora name meaning – Aurora \a(u)-ro-ra\ as a girl’s name is pronounced aw-ROHR-ah. It is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Aurora is “dawn”. Mythology: Aurora was the Roman goddess of sunrise.

FURO- (long o)…Japanese (Katakana) word for “flow.” I love the sense of flow in all of these pieces. And the word itself, to me at least, conjures a feeling of fire and ice, gold and cosmos. Delicate yet fearless. Furo is also a word for Japanese baths, which is a wondrous escape

Electra
In Greek mythology, Electra was the princess of Argos. Just like Electra who was known for her scheming and plotting and no-good ways, the girl who wears these clothes will set fire and rock n’ roll mischief wherever she goes.

I like the name “Chelsea” for a piece in Georgia’s Winter 13 collection. The name hails after NYC’s rock and roll landmark The Chelsea Hotel. Set in Manhattan, the site has been home to the likes of Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Edie Sedgwick, and more. Perfectly fitting!
I also like the idea of naming a dress “Lou” after Jane Birkin’s daughter Lou Doillon – an effortlessly chic fashion icon.

Porcelain Mischief or Recherché
I believe the allure of this elegant and delicate collection comes from it’s slight edge. The juxtaposition of ‘Porcelain Mischief’ or simply ‘Porcelain Edge’ captures the innocence and mystery behind the exotic collection.
‘Recherché’ offers a sense of lust and can be defined as exquisite, lavishly elegant and refined: the Georgia Osborne collection.
