I worked on the production and mix of the album with Matthew Herbert at his studio in England. He was also in the process of completing an album about the life cycle of a pig, from birth to palate. His motivation was to learn more about where his food comes from, how it arrives on his plate. He bought the pig as it was born and recorded almost every part of its life and death from farmyard to feast. The album is entirely made up of samples from the pig and its environment. It’s a strangely moving record.
