Wu Daxin created a magnificent sculpture which he titled Ashley’s Heart. What at first appears to be a tangled formation of cables turns out to be something much more. As your eyes study the work, it becomes clear that there are patches of ice on some of the tubing. The ice is actually melting and drips below. As your eyes continue to wonder, you may or may not notice that the sculpture is a melting heart. This piece is tinged with sadness as time eats away at the ice covered structure. The heart is perhaps weeping as the ice is vanishing right before you. This is a constant reminder that the unstoppable force of time continues and erodes.
