Wellington Airport in New Zealand has recently erected a giant Gollum sculpture in preparation for the world premiere of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey next month. The 13 metre long Gollum was developed by Weta Workshop. The sculpture weighs in at 1.2 tonnes. Weta Workshop is best known for producing the sets, costumes, weapons and creatures of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies.
