Portraits of Chinese families with their possessions

Chinese photographer Huang Qingjun travels to remote parts of China, where he somehow gets its dwellers — many of whom are impoverished — to excavate all their material belongings out of their residences before posing for portraits with the objects. To date, he has traveled to 14 of China’s 33 provinces to shoot the project. Powerful stuff.
