A wake-up app that’s just a tad psychotic

The Japanese are at it again. Mega fashion retailer Uniqlo launched Wake Up a few months ago, a social alarm app that awakes users to music (composed by Cornelius and Yoko Kanno) based on the weather, time and day of the week.

If you’re wondering what’s so social about that, well, let it be known that you can share the thrilling deets (time, weather and temperature) about how you woke up on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, RenRen and Weibo. The over-cheerful female vocals do get a bit psychotic though, especially when the narrator breaks into sing-song for the weather forecast.
