Adelaide-based illustrator and artist Dan Withey’s artwork really inspires me. In his work, he deals with his personal desire to seek freedom from globalization and all the negative aspects that come with it. The idea is executed through the use of images of Native Americans and other people that he considers represent freedom. He believes that they represent something important that we have lost in our modern day world, which has been replaced with fear, paranoia and greed. Withey’s work is currently being exhibited at the Jackman Gallery in Melbourne’s St Kilda.
