The Economist recently ran a pretty fascinating chart showing just how many minutes of labour are needed to earn a pint of beer. The world median, apparently, is 20 minutes. In India, low wages and high taxes mean that beer-guzzlers have to work the hardest (it takes nearly an hour of toil) while their counterparts in the US have it easiest, taking just 5 minutes of labour to earn enough to taste that beer on tap.
