The xx play live with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra

We love the isolated, insular soundscapes of The xx, so the band’s recent Sept 9 live set with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at the Bridlington Opera House — where they played altered arrangements of tracks from both their self-titled debut album and the recent Coexist, against the odd howl from the audience here and then — is especially intriguing to us. Good news: we’re still swooning. The recordings are now available to hear on BBC Radio 1 for a limited time online till Sept 26, so go get them tiger (with your ears).
