This track turned out to be my favorite on Half-Made Man (releasing on 9/25). It’s quite cinematic: beginning with the close up of the idling trucks in the congested streets and then panning out to the suburbs. The lens widens further to farms and wilderness. We keep asking the character, Asa (which means “the healer” in Hebrew), what he’s looking for? I took some inspiration from Ansel Adams’ story and a lot more from my own personal experience to evoke these images. In the end, the song becomes a challenge to myself and everyone else to heal this mess we’ve made.
