Reversed heels are the scariest heels
There are high heels, and then there are… reversed high heels. The creepy Scary Beautiful heels by Dutch designer Leanie van der Vyver are dramatically arched and stilt-like, forcing the wearer to stagger in a slow knee-bent gait with the weight on their shins. Now all we need to know is: if playing records backwards and wearing reversed skyhigh heels are both scary, why is it that Coldplay’s backwards music video for The Scientist always makes us laugh?

Certainly a more candid interpretation of The High Heel and clearly thinking of the wearer’s comfort: A wall or post is not always close to hand.

” clearly thinking of the wearer’s comfort… ” ?
perhaps you should read this line again –
” forcing the wearer to stagger in a slow knee-bent gait with the weight on their shins ”
that just sings comfort deluxe to me !

Normal high heels are just as ridiculous, makes the wearer walk like a giraffe.

Leanie van der Vyver is South African not Dutch. She studied at the Rietveld Academy in the Netherlands.
