Inhalable food helps dieters go easy on calories

A new culinary trend, La Whaf (or ‘whaffing’), is all about, well, inhaling food. Aerosol scientist and Harvard University professor David Edwards’ gigantic French invention looks like the offspring of a glass cauldron and goldfish bowl, and uses some sort of ultrasound technology to conjure a ‘cloud of food’ from a liquidised meal. This tasty smoke can then be inhaled through a straw. Come to think of it, we’re sure we can skip the fancy equipment and smell the food just fine enough to… well, still feel hungry.
