Zombo is like the Andy Kaufman of websites: so far ahead of its time, yet so far removed from any time you can remember. Zombo made its first appearance on the world wide web of useless information in 1999. It’s a Flash site whose appearance hasn’t changed to this day. It even has its own wiki page, having been critiqued for its lack of cultural and technological relevance. Personally, I thank Zombo for its choice in colors, layout, and functionality. The lack of it all is what brings me back to the site for inspiration and smiles. Turn your volume up, stare at your screen, and walk away. Zombo is the past, present, and the future of websites. It says nothing, but it means everything.
